FAQ’s

Q.Why should I donate my unused device?

Computers and laptops have been commonly used in homes and businesses for over two decades; people are consistently running into an issue whenever they discard a previously enjoyed device for a new one.

Q.How long do laptops last?

Laptops and computers last on average anywhere between 3 years (business computers) to 5+ years (personal computers), meaning that by now, most people have previously enjoyed devices they don’t know what to do with.

Q.Why I shouldn’t just throw away my laptop?

It’s risky to discard your previously enjoyed laptop yourself when buying a new computer without professional help wiping the device because it could still have some personal data stored.

There are a number of reasons that people just let old devices sit unused in the closet, attics, and garages.

Q.Why should I recycle my laptop instead?

It just seems wrong to many people to throw away a device that cost so much to begin with. Even though they’re not sure how the laptop could be used in the future, it just seems so wasteful to destroy it.

We  partnered with Ecycle Atlanta to make sure this is a seamless process. Ecycle , recycles computers and other electronics in Atlanta, and they have made the process easy, and safe.

Q.How could I extend the life cycle of my device?

Most times when a person upgrades to a new laptop, their previous device can be repurposed and may still have some usable life left. While the device has already been replaced then maybe someday, someone else, like our underserved youth can benefit from that old one.

Q. How can I safely have my device wiped (for Free!) and donate it to a good cause?

Because of all the different places data can hide on a device, many people hold on to old laptops because they’re afraid they won’t wipe the laptop completely and may leave behind some personal data.

Our team at Inspiredu, knows the struggle people have over what to do with those previously enjoyed devices. They don’t want to be wasteful yet they want to make sure the device is totally cleaned of their data.

We have the perfect solution that allows you a professional wipe for free and the satisfaction of donating your computer to a good cause.

Q. What it means when I #donate2educate to the Spark Initiative?

It’s been a struggle for many students and their parents as the pandemic has created an environment where kids have to go to school online. But not all families have the resources to purchase a laptop or device for their children.

You can help those kids by donating your previously enjoyed laptops!
