Donate Technology to Help Atlanta Students!

inspiredu is a nonprofit organization that helps students in low-income communities, together with their teachers and families, harness the power of digital learning to improve educational outcomes.

One component of our program is providing families with a free refurbished Home Learning Center computer loaded with educational software, along with training on how to support student learning at home. In the 2019-2020 school year we provided more than 1,200 Atlanta families with a free home computer.

FAQs

What kind of technology will you accept?

We accept desktops, laptops (dual core processor or greater), Macs, LCD monitors, USB keyboards, USB mice, networking equipment and power cords. We welcome the opportunity to discuss other possible donations, such as iPads and other tables, USB flash drives, RAM, hard drives and surge protectors for families.

Will Inspiredu wipe the data?

All hard drives are wiped clean of existing data using Active KillDisk data- wiping software that complies with U.S. Department of Defense cleaning and sanitizing standard DoD 5220.22-M. Once the hard drives have been wiped, they are imaged with a specific suite of educational software, which includes the Microsoft Windows operating system, Microsoft Office, anti-virus software and a Learning Launchpad.

Is there a tax deduction for my technology?

Inspiredu is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, and all computer donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. We will send you an acknowledgement letter for tax purposes.

How do I transport the technology to Inspiredu?

We work to make the logistics a seamless process for the donor. We have a logistics team that will come and retrieve the donation. The donor can also drop off the donation at our location or ship the technology to our facility.
