Board Highlight: Trey Keisler

It is very easy for IT professionals to get behind and support Inspiredu’s mission, with the understanding we would not be where we are in our careers without proper access to technology and training.
— Trey Keisler

Q. As an Inspiredu board member, what are you most excited about?

I am excited about the impact Inspiredu has and the opportunity they provide to increase the reach and impact while eliminating the digital literacy gap across our communities.

Q. What is your current job, and what does it involve?

I am the CIO for the Gas Power business in GE Vernova. My team and I are responsible for ensuring we have the right technology and tools to best serve our customers while driving internal productivity for the Gas Power business.

Q. What is a day like in the life of Trey?

There are a lot of meetings…split between business operations & strategy, IT operations & strategy, and most importantly, people & career discussions. On any given day my time may not be evenly split across these three areas, but in a month, it would be evenly split. I also spend time externally exploring new technology, solutions, and partnerships that may help us improve how we support our business or run more efficiently.

Q. How do you relate to Inspiredu’s mission, values, and/or work?

It is very easy for IT professionals to get behind and support Inspiredu’s mission, with the understanding we would not be where we are in our careers without proper access to technology and training. I was personally moved to help issue laptops to the Coretta Scott King Young Women's Leadership Academy during the fall of 2019 while volunteering with Inspiredu. Seeing firsthand the commitment those young women had and their recognition that technology is required to succeed in today’s world made me a believer in Inspiredu’s mission. I just wish everyone could have seen and felt what I did that day.
