Amazon Helps Inspiredu Expand Digital Opportunity in Rural Georgia

We are incredibly grateful to Amazon for funding our recent Adult Digital Literacy workshop in Jackson, GA, which helped extend access to technology and digital literacy training beyond metro Atlanta and into communities across rural Georgia.

"Digital literacy is about more than technology—it's about opening doors to opportunity and connection," said Afrika Alsup, community engagement manager at Amazon. "We're proud to support Inspiredu’s work bringing practical digital skills training to communities across Georgia. Through partnerships like this, we help families build pathways to a more connected future."

Through this support, learners in Jackson are gaining practical skills and resources that make technology feel more accessible and useful in everyday life. Mrs. Newson is one example of that impact. After attending an Inspiredu workshop in Butts County and receiving a device, she began applying what she learned right away, from finding information online more efficiently to navigating apps with greater confidence. She also deepened her understanding of online safety by learning to spot suspicious emails and messages. Today, she uses her device to support her family and is eager to continue building her digital skills.

As our CEO, Richard Hicks, shares:
“At Inspiredu, we believe access to technology and digital skills should not be limited by geography. Whether in the heart of Atlanta or in communities across rural Georgia, every individual deserves the opportunity to connect, learn, and grow with confidence. Stories like Mrs. Newson’s remind us that when we invest in people, we create lasting impact that reaches families, strengthens communities, and opens doors to a more connected future.”

Thank you, Amazon, for helping to make that impact possible and for supporting learners and families across Georgia.
