Families Build Digital Skills Through Inspiredu's Family Learning Workshop with CGI
Families from Rainbow Elementary School filled Inspiredu’s Volunteer & Training Center during our Family Learning Workshop on March 28, 2026. A notable highlight of the day was an interactive STEM session led by Stephanie Ogwo from CGI, who made hands-on learning come alive for both children and parents. Together, families explored technology as creators and problem-solvers.
CGI provided not only an engaging STEM session, but also a dedicated team of Digital Skills Volunteers who provided personalized guidance to learners throughout the workshop. Their team offered encouragement, answered questions, and made sure every family felt supported and confident as they learned new skills together.
Ellen Harden, who spearheaded CGI’s volunteer efforts that day, shared that volunteering with Inspiredu aligns deeply with CGI’s core values and commitment to strengthening the communities where they live and work. She recalled a powerful moment watching a parent and child working side-by-side on their newly earned laptop, “going back and forth on the keyboard together,” collaborating and learning from one another. Ellen emphasized that access to digital skills and a laptop at home opens doors, from job applications to continuing education, creating new opportunities for families. Her advice to anyone considering volunteering? “Don’t think about doing it… do it! You won’t regret it.”
Volunteers offer personalized support that transforms Inspiredu workshops into life-changing experiences.
