Board Highlight: John DeShazer

Inspiredu has a vision of a future where digital participation is not defined by zip code, and it is leading the effort to realize that vision in Georgia.
— John DeShazer

Q. As an Inspiredu emeritus board member, what are you most excited about?

I'm excited to be part of the effort led by the Inspiredu staff, volunteers, and board members to create a more equitable digital future for Georgia families and communities.

Q. What is your current job, and what does it involve?

As President, I lead a Salesforce Professional Services company called LogicSpree.
LogicSpree, renowned for our adept analysis-driven approach, specializes in delivering Salesforce success for small and mid-market businesses.

Q.  What is a day like in the life of John?

My day involves wearing many hats, but I spend the majority of my time enabling the LogicSpree team to deliver 5-star experiences for our Salesforce customers.  This involves listening to specific customer concerns, developing collaborative solutions, and resource planning.

After work, I dedicate time to reading about history, philosophy, psychology, and economics (I'm a boring guy).  On Saturdays, I like to travel to towns/cities around the South to get a sense of the unique character of each.  On Sundays, I typically spend time with my parents, nephews, siblings, and cousins.

Occasionally, I like to play a 20-year-old computer game called Rise of Nations.

Q. How do you relate to Inspiredu’s mission, values, and/or work?

I grew up in southern DeKalb County, a community that is served by Inspiredu, so I have experienced life on the other side of the digital divide and its associated challenges.  I follow the line of thinking that states that we should not wait for the future to come to us, rather we should create the future that we desire.  Inspiredu has a vision of a future where digital participation is not defined by zip code, and it is leading the effort to realize that vision in Georgia.
